Aldrik Heirman receives his degree in landscape and garden design in 1988.
In 1990 he establishes Aldrik Heirman Nurseries and since then he works in Europe, North Afrika and Asia.
Major works include ‘Groot Begijnhof’ (UNESCO heritage) univercity garden in Leuven (2003), ‘project ST’ in Deurle (with David Chipperfield), ‘Museum square in Gent (2006)’and ‘project R’ a private desert garden in Marakech (2008).
In 2006 Aldrik Heirman and his team become a member of BAT.architectuur.
In 2007 Heirman receives an Award for the competition ‘Agents for Human Interaction’, Honourable mention, at the Royal Academy of Arts in Londen for the Museum Square between S.M.A.K. and M.S.K., Citadelpark Gent
In 2009 he wins the competition for the garden of the Belgian embassy in Tokio and the competition for the design of the elephant resort’ for the Zoo Planckendael.
